#BDCH23 DISK IMAGING WORKSHOP
—————————————–

Develop practical skills and knowledge of the methodologies for software preservation with a focus on disk imaging at this one-day workshop hosted at ACMI’s Blackmagic Design Media Preservation Lab
This workshop will provide participants with practical know-how and understanding of technological and methodological approaches to software preservation. Hands-on training led by software preservationist Dr Cynde Moya (Digital Heritage Lab, Swinburne University) will focus on imaging a variety of disk media, such as CD-ROMs and floppy disks, and offer examples of the building of environments of legacy hardware and software to run these images within the Australian Emulation as a Service Infrastructure (EaaSI). Candice Cranmer, ACMI’s Time-based Media Art Conservator, will share insights into the workflow for disk imaging of ACMI’s collection. The workshop is aimed at an entry-level with opportunities for the more experienced to broaden their knowledge and explore differing media.
